Rose getting ready to search
Rose is from our "A" litter and is half American show + performance line and half working lines.  Rose is multitalented, but her first job title is "best friend" to her co-owner.  Rose inherited her dam's strong scenting abilities and she and her co-owner have learned the ropes of search and rescue together, where Rose has become certified in human remains detection. (Certified Nov. '22, recertified Nov. '23, '24)

When she isn't hard at work or polishing up her searching skills, she lives for fetch and tug and loves to swim with her Labrador housemates, Ty and Jane.  All health testing, including full cardiac health testing, has been done and is repeated annually as applicable.

Like her brother Granite, both Rose's registered and call names are inspired by our surroundings.  Mt. Rose is located northeast of Lake Tahoe, often reflecting the breathtaking colors of the setting sun.

Piper - CH Irongate's Butterfly Kisses CGC TKA RATN RN
Piper is an American show + performance line dog and family companion. Her driven yet biddable nature makes her an active family companion.  Her favorite pastimes are bikejoring, hiking, nosework, rally obedience, and snuggling in with whatever family member she can steal blankets from.  She absolutely loves training and is tireless whatever she sets her mind to.  Before retiring from conformation showing, Piper took an owner-handled Grand Champion major placement her first weekend out as a special. She is fully health tested to OFA CHIC standard.

Piper was bred to Keeper, a highly accomplished European working line dog in Spring 2020. Titled in both therapy work and IGP, the sire contributed genetic diversity and a solid working temperament to the litter.
Litter Highlights
UKC CH Kickturn's Alpenglow CGC TKN SAR-HRD - Rose ended up being the only bitch in a litter of boys.  She was one of the last puppies born and was always a bit smaller than the big brothers born before her, but that just meant she showed her spunky side early.  Rose has matured into a lovely representation of the breed and has passed all breed applicable health tests.  See her section at the top of this page for more insights about her.

Kickturn's All Off Piste TKN - Granite is the boy we just couldn't part with.  Both his registered name and call name are a nod to a local mountain peak, known for its off-piste skiing, called Granite Peak.

Granite is a chill dude whose happy-go-lucky attitude belies how many working line traits he inherited from his sire.  His strength and drive kept me on my toes during his adolescence, but he has matured into the amazing dog I have always seen him to be.

In 2022 Granite unexpectedly became gravely ill.  It took months to find an appropriate treatment, and months more to determine that he had likely been exposed repeatedly to an unknown neurotoxin, causing autonomic dysfunction.  Thankfully he otherwise has youth and health on his side, and he has gradually recovered.  I treasure every day with him.  Whether or not they are breeding candidates, I always seek to be transparent regarding the health of my dogs and, as such, have detailed his health journey on his Dobequest page.

Kickturn's Alpine Tahoe is named for the iconic alpine lake of the northern Sierras.  Tahoe has been placed in a competitive performance home in Germany where his eternal zest for life is shining bright.  It has been a pleasure to watch his training progress under the expertise of his owner.

Kickturn's A Perfect Camber CGC CGCA TKA ACT1 is living the beach life, so it is fitting that Beneteau's registered name is a play on words - camber is both a sailing and alpine skiing term.  Under the expert training of his owner, Ben is becoming a model citizen as well as learning foundations for his future in dog sports.

**Update: Unfortunately Piper developed pseudo placentational hyperplasia with mucometra.  These are potentially life threatening issues so we opted for the safest course of treatment and she underwent an immediate emergency spay.  Fortunately she is back to her spirited self after a smooth recovery**

We are excited to share the news of our recent breeding. We hope to confirm her pregnancy in mid March.

We proudly use Puppy Culture protocols and feel that this gives our puppies the best possible start.  We base our home placements upon ongoing observations during early socialization, as well as temperament testing done at 7 weeks of age.
